This movement aims to overthrow Sukarno and turn Indonesia into communist. This movement was led by Dipa Nusantara Aidit who was the head of the PKI at that time. At that time DN Aidit invited the people to support the PKI to make Indonesia a more developed country.
At the behest of Lieutenant Colonel Untung Syamsuri who was then Commander of 1st Battalion Cakrabiarawa this movement slid in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. This movement targeted the Generals and High Officers. The movement in Jakarta intended to kidnap the Generals and take them to Lubang Buaya. But there were also those killed where he was kidnapped. Namely Ahmad Yani and Karel Satsuit Tubun. The rest died slowly because of their wounds at Lubang Buaya.
For this incident the people demanded President Soekarno to dissolve the PKI. Though the PKI was the biggest force supporting Soekarno's "Ganyang Malaysia" movement. Soekarno then ordered Major General Soeharto to purge the elements of the government from the influence of the PKI.
